Mr. Eric Shi Ming Wei is a New Media Architect at the Educational and Staff Development Department (ESDD) of Singapore Polytechnic (SP). He has been working with SP since 1990. He started with the Centre for Computer Based Learning (CCBL) and was involved in numerous projects including SP's first Digital Video Interactive (DVI) for Maritime Technology and Transportation (MTT) Department. He is Project Leader in many CD-ROM and Web-based learning projects including Macroeconomics, Math and Science Preparatory Assignments, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and also Interactive Multimedia Web-sites on Life Sciences with the Chemical Process and Biotechnology (CPB) Dept. He is currently researching and developing mobile & wireless e-learning modules for SP's School of Business Digital Media Course based on Macromedia Flash/Generator, ASP and MSSQL.

Mr. Wei trains Lecturers and Students in IT Staff Development Programmes and also teaches in the E-Commerce/Web Development module for the Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems and Management Institute of Singapore (MIS). Other courses he conducts include Computer Music/Sound Design, Web Design/Animation using Macromedia's Flash Technology, Web site development using Macromedia's 3 in 1 (Fireworks/Flash/Dreamweaver) and Advanced web streaming presentation for Blackboard using Real Presenter Pro.

Mr. Wei holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons.) in Information Technology and Sonic Arts (Double Major) from Middlesex University, London, U.K. with First Class Honours. Research work include creative use of music composition for the disabled using Interactive Brainwave Visual Analyzer (IBVA). Key interest areas include Human Computer Interaction (HCI), usability design, use of video/audio streaming technology for education, Web enabled DVD for learning and mobile & wireless e-learning/ computing.
