Dr. Andrew WADSWORTH

Dr. Andrew Wadsworth is currently working as a research associate with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois. He is responsible for the coordination of a new research and development team investigating knowledge management and learning systems for education and training. Dr. Wadsworth recently worked as coordinator of HRE Online -- a graduate degree program in Human Resource Development offered entirely online.

As a graduate student, he was responsible for the development of a course titled, "Instructional Technology for Education and Training", both online and face-to-face. He was also responsible for the formation, direction, and supervision of the Web Technology Group, a multimedia development team of over forty specialists who design content and resources for Web-based courses, distance education, and graduate credit courses. 

As a coordinator for Distance Learning at the University of Illinois, he has assisted many professors in the design and development of course content across all disciplines. Dr. Wadsworth has lead support efforts for courses delivered using interactive video, audio and computer conferencing, and Internet-based technology. 

He has performed evaluations of distance learning courses originating from the University of Illinois for the last eight years. Dr. Wadsworth conducts workshops and presentations regularly for University faculty interested in the latest research and development in distance learning technology. His primary research interest is the use of collaborative educational systems for distance learning and teaching.

He holds a B.Sc. in Physics and a M.S. Ed. in Physical Science from Eastern Illinois University and recently earned a Ph.D. in Education from the Department of Human Resource Education at the University of Illinois.
