| Ms. Malene Molding Nielsen is a Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) Officer in the headquarters of the United Nations'
World Food Programme (WFP) in Rome, Italy. As an M&E officer
she is working in the Office of Monitoring and Evaluation (OEDE)
where she assists in providing normative guidance to WFP field
staff world wide. She is working on OEDE's M&E training
strategy and programme that will be launched in the second half
of 2002 and on OEDE's information bulletin "The
Indicator". Between 2000-2001 she worked with WFP in Dhaka,
Bangladesh as a programme officer in a Management Information
section.
From 1999-2000 she was teaching anthropology, in particular, anthropology of Eastern and Southern Africa, at the Institute of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides teaching at the University of Copenhagen she was occasionally teaching at Folke Universitetet, an adult learning organization also in Copenhagen. Between 1995-1996 she was working for an NGO, The Rescue Dada Center, a rehabilitation center of young street girls in Nairobi, Kenya where she, amongst others, carried out an anthropological research project on street life and survival in urban Kenya. Ms. Nielsen holds a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen that she obtained 1998. Her interests include, cognitive anthropology, learning, urban poverty, development and M&E. |
