| Ms. Constance Netha-Mann is a Programme Officer of the
Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and
Southern Africa (MEFMI). The MEFMI Secretariat is responsible
for capacity building in critical areas of economic management
within the region. MEFMI's headquarters is located in Harare,
Zimbabwe.
MEFMI, which was established in 1994, has ten sub-regional member countries (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe). Ms. Netha-Mann joined the MEFMI Secretariat in 1999. Her main focus is training and capacity building in the areas of macroeconomic management. This involves identifying specific training needs in thematic areas of macroeconomic management and related areas, designing courses/workshops/seminars and preparing training materials, as well as monitoring and evaluating these activities. From 1992 to 1999, she was senior research officer at the Bank of Namibia. Her responsibilities were compilation and analysis of balance of payments data as well as providing policy advice on external sector developments. In addition, she was involved in identifying training needs for staff development. From 1982 to 1987 she taught English at Caprivi Secondary School and Teachers Training College in Caprivi, Namibia. Ms. Netha-Mann holds a Masters Degree in Economic Development from Williams College, USA; a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the North, South Africa; and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Namibia. |
