| Dr. Bashir Ali Khallat, a Libyan national, is the Deputy
Director and Chief, Training Division of the Islamic Research
and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank
(IDB), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Between 1978 and 1989, Dr. Khallat
worked as Director, Research Department, Central Bank of Libya,
Tripoli. From 1983 to 1986, he has worked as Executive Director,
Arab Monetary Fund, Abu Dhabi. From 1998 to 1999, he worked as
Director, Technical Cooperation Office of the IDB and from 2000
to date he has been working as Deputy Director and Chief,
Training Division, IRTI of the IDB.
Being Deputy Director & Chief, Training Division, IRTI, Dr. Khallat is responsible for organizing training programs in the IDB member countries on diversified subjects which inter alias include Productivity & Quality Management, Accounting and Auditing Standards for Islamic Financial Institutions, Leadership Development, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Curriculum Development in Technical and Vocational Education, Electronic Commerce and Use of New Information Technology, Sustainable Development, Sustainability Issues and Environmental Impact Consideration in the Planning and Analysis of Agricultural Investment Project, Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities etc. Dr. Khallat holds a University Degree in Economics from the University of Libya, Tripoli (1967). He also holds a Master Degree in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, USA (1975). |
