| Dr. Shanthi is a lecturer and Chairperson in the Film and
Broadcasting Programme in the School of Communication,
University Science Malaysia (USM). Her main research interests
are focused on women, children and television as well as media
literacy. Her recent publications include journal articles and
book chapters on the construction of femininity and children's
programming in Malaysian television. Currently, she is studying
Newspaper Reporting on Children and Children's Television
Programming in Malaysia. She is also involved in the area of
media literacy. In addition to writing on the topic, she has
conducted workshops addressing issues of consciousness-raising
and community media production.
Dr. Shanthi holds a B.A (Hons) in Mass Communications from University Science Malaysia, M.A and Ph.D. in Mass Communications from University of Leicester, United Kingdom. |
