We are very proud to be sponsors, presenters and a resource team in the international workshop series
organised by the World Bank Institute
Knowledge Utilization through Learning Technologies (KULT) program.
The workshops, jointly organised with world-class training institutions, such as:
- Asian Institute of Management, Philippines
- Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand
- University Science Malaysia, Malaysia
- American University of Cairo, Egypt
- Universitas Surabaya, Indonesia
focus on the major issues of quality, management and marketing of training faced by
institutions in a globally competitive marketplace.
Our specific contribution is tightly connected to the utilisation
of new media technologies in several areas of application:
- Application of interactive learning technologies to training
and distance education
- Distance mentoring and e-learning
- Cybermarketing of training
- Quality online customer service
- Visual presentation and information design
- Web publishing for international organisations methodology and approaches
- Information architecture and knowledge management

This KULT flagship workshop, now at its fourth edition, is aimed at senior
trainers who want to improve their mastery of innovative training design,
curriculum development and learning methods application.
The workshop rolls out over 5 phases. Phase 2 and 4 will take place near the beautiful beaches of Penang,
Malaysia (1-hr flight from Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur), and at the Asian Institute of Technology campus, just a
few miles away from the bustling city of Bangkok.
Phases 1, 3 and 5 will be run online in distance learning mode.
Last year, we had 33 participants from over 20 different countries, who enjoyed this workshop very
much. Its focus is on both pedagogical and technological aspects critical in improving quality of your training
offering.

This is where the whole Internet revolution started, with the team that
developed the original Mosaic, the first web browser which eventually gave life to Netscape.
Prof. Wentling is one of the key Lead Presenters at this workshop, covering
topics ranging from Training Methods and Delivery, to Course Design and Evaluation.
For ITQ-4, IKONOS is providing the full online learning system, from the
general information website to the platform and infrastructure that will support
the online learning activities of Phases 1, 3 and 5.

Ronny Adhikarya, Senior Training Officer and KULT Program Manager for the Knowledge Neworking and Distance
Learning Division (WBIKL) of the World Bank Institute, is the key producer and organiser of all the workshops
listed above.
