Web site production intern

We offer an internship opportunity to young talented Web site producers, who are willing to practice their skills while contributing to real-life Web projects for international clients (World Bank, United Nations Environment Program, FAO).

We are currently looking for one Web site producer, with strong technical skills and motivation to learn the job on the field. The applicant should be willing to devote part of his/her time to contribute to our Web production work while learning new skills under the guidance of our technical supervisor.

The IKONOS Web site producer:

  • has a good knowledge of pure HTML;

  • is able to code Web pages in Notepad (mandatory);

  • is familiar with the typical workflow of Web site production (prototyping, testing, cross-browser compatibility testing, FTP);

  • has produced Web sites, either as a professional or for training practice, that he/she must be able to demo;

  • is max 25 years old;

  • speaks fluent English.

The applicant must be able to exhibit accomplished work, either online or offline, as proof of his/her potential.

Immediate responsibilities are:

1) production of Web pages, prototypes and whole Web sites;


2) maintenance and update of IKONOS network of Web sites.

We offer expense reimbursement for a 3-4 month internship. Should the intern complete his/her experience at IKONOS successfully, he/she would be hired on a project basis.

Online editor intern

We are looking for a young and motivated editor with good research, writing and editing skills, to contribute to IKONOS knowledgebase (IKO-KB).

IKONOS Knowledgebase is a finely-selected, highly-focussed directory of knowledge in the fields of new media communication, learning, design and management. We are developing this innovative knowledge repository for the benefit of managers and professionals who wish to effectively use information and communication technologies to improve their work in international training, research, development, non-profit organisations.

The IKO-KB editor:

  • speaks and writes English fluently (mother-tongue preferred, otherwise he/she must be able to provide evidence of his/her superior English language skills);

  • is able to research, edit and write reviews of Web sites, online services, articles and software in English;

  • has experience in Web surfing and use of search engines;

  • is willing to contribute a minimum of 3 hrs a day to writing and entering items into IKO-KB;

  • can effectively use Office applications, Internet browsers, e-mail clients;

  • has a personal Internet connection and email box.

This internship is offered as a professional development opportunity to students and young professionals who want to gain practical publishing experience as well as prestige and credentials by contributing to an innovative international Web project.

This internship position will require both on-site and distance collaboration for an overall period of 4-8 months (depending on the applicant's availability).
